Steve Parry-Hearn’s vision for a better future for the Forest of Dean inextricably combines the preservation of our unique heritage and the exciting creation of jobs and economic prosperity.
The Forest of Dean has a rich and incredible history, in its royal hunting forest, its Armada Oakwoods, its pre-industrial revolution blast furnaces, its natural beauty and its freemining – a heritage we enjoy and must harness. Steve will fight to give our Forest a secure status, in public hands, and develop high quality tourism in our cherished landscape.
In parallel, it is imperative that we improve employment opportunities, that we promote growth, inward investment and sustainable development. Steve will move to develop the technological infrastructure and to attract modern, clean, small-scale but well-paid industries to our Forest, to ensure employment, apprenticeship opportunities and prosperity for local people, and for future generations.
